Close calendar after due date selected

It would be great if the calendar popup would automatically collapse/disappear after selecting a due date. Currently, even after the due date for a task is selected, the calendar window does not disappear. This results in having to click outside of it to collapse and then select a due date for a different task.

Hi @Roshni_Patel, welcome to the Asana Community Forum :wave:

Thanks for providing this feedback!

While this feature isn’t available right now, hopefully it’s something our Product team can implement in the future.

I’ll keep you posted and let you know if we have any updates :slight_smile:

No, this is not good.

I agree with this request. It’s a valid request (why require an extra click; there’s no value in keeping the popup open unless the assumption is people always click the wrong date).

I’ve asked support the same just this week, and get the same response without any valid explanation as to why the date popup is left open.

We are a year and a half out from this post, and nothing has changed and continue to receive no explanation as to why the decision is to keep the popup open.

This seems like poor UX and Asana customers’ concerns falling on deaf ears.

@Bill_Hoisington,

Don’t forget to cast your vote at the top of this thread.

In case you have interest in another way to set dates (disclaimer: I’m the creator):

Thanks,

Larry

lpb Thank you, I have voted (looks like I am the first?). I’ll also try your Chrome extension, thanks for that.

@Roshni_Patel @Rebecca_McGrath please add your vote if you are interested. Maybe this isn’t being taken care of because of the low Votes?

I still have yet to hear a reasonable justification for why the popup stays open. It seems very strange that Asana seems to prefer the popup open without giving any use case where it’s the better approach. Hopefully lpb’s extension helps ease the pain of updating many task dates in a row.
