Can asana be used a standalone Project Resource Management Tool?

We have been using asana in conjunction with another resource management tool, and as we refine our processes it would be ideal to aggregate these two functionalities, ideally within asana. Does Asana have the functionality to do this effectively? (without the use of custom fields)

Hi David,

It’s possible, but I think this would be difficult without the use of custom fields and other paid features. That’s just my opinion though.

 @David_Swann, I’d be curious to hear what solution you’ve been using since posting this question? Float is a resource management tool that has recently launched a direct integration with Asana. You can check it out on the Asana App Marketplace here, [Float • Asana], and read more about the feature on our blog post here, [Simplify your resource scheduling workflow with our Asana integration].

We actually use Asana ourselves for project management to plan our development sprints and tasks, and Float of course purely for resource scheduling.
