Auto-Reflect Custom Fields in Subtasks

Hello, looking for Task custom fields to autopopulate into all associated subtasks.

Currently have parent tasks living in Project A with specific subtasks that are then copied into Project B, therefore becoming their own parent task. Looking for a way for the custom fields in the original parent task to autopopulate for the subtask (now turned it’s own task.)

From what I understand, this is currently not possible since rules do not apply to subtasks. Does anyone have any workarounds for this?

This is indeed not possible.

2 workarounds:

  • use automation with a custom script, this is what I do in my company and we could discuss having me share my code (contact me by email bastien@ido-clarity.com)
  • build a saved search to find all the subtasks without a value and manually enter the date where it is missing…
