Assistance with Asana Domain Migration

Hello all:

I’m in the process of migrating our Asana domain from Company A to Company B, and would appreciate any guidance on the following:

  1. What are the best steps to migrate all our projects, portfolios, reports, dashboards, and other data to a new domain?
  2. How can we ensure a smooth transfer of tasks, data integrity, and user permissions during the migration?
  3. Are there any known issues with third-party integrations (e.g., Slack, Google Drive) that we should be aware of?
  4. What common challenges should we prepare for during the migration process?

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This is a complex question that I recommend you address fully with Asana Sales or Asana Support.

Did you know Asana orgs can have more than one domain name attached to them? Maybe you don’t need to migrate. That would be key to avoid, if possible, because it will be far simpler to address that way, if feasible.

If you do need to migrate, see the link here:

but recognize that topic/posts are not the same request as yours, though perhaps that one link is relevant.

I don’t think any of the third-party solutions are a 100% migration, but certainly some are better than others.

Thanks,

Larry
