Asana working weird between Outlook and Slack?

I recently encouraged a client to install the Outlook app so they could easily create tasks in Asana from emails. The client also uses Slack and already has the Asana app integrated there. This is the email I received from them yesterday.

I have a question about outlook integration. I added that and created a test task from an email and it worked perfectly except it also added the email in the slack channel as well. That is not something we want to happen…is there a way to only add the email to the task in asana and not involve slack at all?

Thoughts?

Hi @Wayne_Hedlund1, thanks for reaching out! They probably also have project notifications enabled in Slack. This means that when a new task is added to the project, in this case via the Outlook add-in, they get a notification in Slack. You can advise them to use /asana link to turn off Asana project notifications in the specific Slack channel.

I hope this helps!

Thanks Emily. We’ll check to see if that resolves the issue.
