asana task on slack thread

Hi there, how to create asana task on slack thread?
I integrated my asana project with slack channel, whenever I tried to create new asana task via slack thread, it displayed as a main message in the channel. It’s too noisy especially when there’s a lot of people in the channel.
is it any way to create asana task from a message and posted as a thread in that message? Thanks

You can type /asana create to create a new task in Asana without leaving Slack.

Hi @Rebecca_McGrath thanks. however what I mean is how to create asana task by typing /asana in reply as a slack thread. here is an example of jira ticket that created by replying a thread. can we do such a thing for asana in the thread?

I have tried it and it shows this message. I still can’t create the asana task on a thread, it always shows as a message in main channel, not in the thread

Can you please confirm if both your Slack and Asana app are up to date and you are using the most recent version?

I have tested this on my end and can confirm that I can use /asana create on response to threads.

hello @Rebecca_McGrath yes I can confirm that both apps are the most recent versions. Even when I can use /asana as a reply to thread, the asana task still displayed outside the thread :frowning:
still have no idea how to make the asana task as a reply thread without posting it as a separate message in the channel

Thanks for following up, @anon40483316. Apologies, I may have misunderstood your question! While you can create Asana tasks via thread replies, the message will show in the channel as opposed to the thread response. This is expected behaviour!

Hi @Rebecca_McGrath thank you for confirming. Just an idea, if a user can create asana task from a message or as a reply to a thread, I think it would be better to post it in the thread message. It would be very helpful for the user to track the task in both, slack and asana. Thanks
