Asana Student Discount: Repeatedly Misclassified as Nonprofit Application (UPN Student)

Hello Asana Community and Support Team,

I’m reaching out because I’m experiencing a persistent issue with my Asana student discount application, and I’m hoping to get some clarity and resolution.

I am an active Master’s student at Universidad Privada del Norte (UPN) in Peru. For your reference, UPN is a recognized institution within the Laureate Education global network (https://www.upn.edu.pe/).

My problem is that my application for the student discount has been repeatedly and incorrectly processed as a nonprofit organization application. I’ve received several emails from Goodstack (Asana’s verification partner) requesting documents like voided deposit slips, articles of association, or employment contracts, which are irrelevant to my student status.

Despite my clear communications in reply to these emails, explaining that I am an individual student and not a nonprofit, the issue persists. The latest response even stated that my “organization’s nonprofit status has been verified,” which is simply not true as I don’t represent any organization.

I have already provided (and am ready to provide again) standard student verification documents, such as:

  • A screenshot from my university portal showing my details and enrollment.
  • My university invoice/receipt for master’s degree payments.

Could anyone please guide me on how to properly apply for the student discount without it being misclassified as a nonprofit application? Or, if a support representative is reading this, could you help escalate this to ensure my student status is correctly verified?

I’m eager to use Asana for my academic work and appreciate any assistance in resolving this confusion.

Thank you,
Wilfredo Pedroso

Welcome, @Wil_Pedroso, and sorry for this trouble.

Have you tried creating a support ticket: see How to contact our Support Team? I think that would be your best bet.

I’ve removed one sentence with potentially confidential info from your public post here, but you should be sure to include that in your support request.

Thanks,

Larry

Hi Larry,

Thanks for your quick response and for helping with my post!

Yes, I did try creating a support ticket first. Unfortunately, my request was repeatedly misclassified as a nonprofit organization application, despite my attempts to clarify that I am an individual student. The support team kept asking for nonprofit documents, which I cannot provide.

That’s why I decided to post here in the forum, hoping to get assistance in correctly redirecting my student discount application.

My main goal is to simply get my student status verified so I can access the Asana student discount.

Thanks again for your help!

Best, Wilfredo

Hi @Wil_Pedroso, Thanks for reaching out, and apologies for any confusion!

I’ve checked your recent support ticket, and I can confirm it was successfully created. Our support team emailed you a few hours ago, so I recommend continuing the conversation with them via email.

Please also make sure you’re using the correct email address to register. Just a reminder, applications using @gmail.com addresses aren’t eligible. You may need to reapply using your .edu email address instead.

I hope this helps!
