Asana Desktop App V2.4.0

I just updated to the new version on my Mac and it is not working well at all. I can’t click on anything. Is anyone else having issues?

Just wanted to add that after the update and the app not working, I restarted the app again and then also restarted my computer. No fix.

I’m experiencing the same. Slow to load contents. Once loaded, I can’t click on anything on the left nav or just seems to hang.

Same issue here. Restarted the app multiple times and my computer twice.

When I reached out to support they said to delete and reinstall the desktop app which did work. The app version available for download is 2.3.0 NOT the buggy version 2.4.0 which was the update they just pushed.

I had the same issue - deleting and reinstalling the app worked for me as well!

I’ve just updated the app from 2.3.0 to 2.4.0 on my M1 MacMini and is all good (and fast, veeeerryy fast). Where we can find the changelog to know what’s changed? :slight_smile:

It sounds like the solution, according to Support, is to (delete and) reinstall the app, but one report here says 2.4.0 works well and another says it doesn’t and 2.3.0 is needed. I’m guessing Asana will by now have it set to the working version so the reinstall will choose the right one perhaps?

Same issue here on Mac. The app is completely unusable.

UPDATE: Deleted desktop app and reinstalled. Working again.


I am having same issue too since updating this morning. Can’t click on anything, slow as anything just to open. I am also working on a Mac if that helps. For something I use constantly this is not great. Using browser version for now.

Since updating the app yesterday, it is running unbelievably slowly—even after multiple restarts—to the point where I’ve switched back to using the browser version. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I don’t know what has happened to the desktop app lately, but it is SO slow and unresponsive it’s become impossible to use. the web browser view runs fine and the only way to use Asana atm. I have a very fast laptop and a 1Gb internet connection so there’s no excuse on the technical front.

Had the same issue - deleted the app and reinstalled and now it’s working as normal.
