Asana Advanced to Standard - what will I lose

Currently on the Advanced plan and looking to reduce to Standard as we are not using the features of advanced (we have 3 seats and use Asana for task management essentially with lots of projects with custom fields)

From what I can see portfolios will be lost on downgrading (which is ok because we are not using these), but I have a query about custom fields and automations…do these still remain? It says they do on their plan breakdown online but I read conflicting info elsewhere so just want to be sure.

Can anyone offer any feedback here please? TIA!!

Just to confirm: you say “standard”, do you mean “Starter”?

Yes sorry Starter

@Jay_Vella

Yes custom fields and project automations will remain.

Portfolios, goals and the features related to those are the bulk of what you’ll lose when downgrading.

I’d say those are essential to upgrade Asana from a fancy to-do list to a work management system (especially when combined with status updates done well) but that is of course for you to decide.

If there are any features you are specifically curious about, the help center articles mention all plans features are available in, if it’s not available in the free tier.

PS: You can find an overview of features per plan at Asana Pricing | Personal, Starter, Advanced, & Enterprise plans • Asana

@Jay_Vella, in addition to @Jan-Rienk’s good reply, see also:

Note some of the features listed there, including a couple of losses related to custom fields you mentioned.

(Also see the links at the top of that post with newer information that superceded that post; changes Asana made after I wrote it.)

Thanks,

Larry
