I find lately that I need to look through the details in tasks - but this means I have to click “Show previous updates” quite often - is there a global setting somewhere to have “updates” set to verbose so that they always display?
No worries if not - I can create a chrome extension to use if it’s not available yet.

@James_Kimpton, I’m afraid there’s no such setting in Asana natively, so others might appreciate a Chrome extension for this.
@ShunS has provided a related solution, but it doesn’t work automatically; see Expand Comments in:
Complete/uncomplete all tasks in a project, expand/collapse all sections in a project, expand all comments in a task – all of these bulk actions can be done with just one click.

@lpb - the link to Asana Bookmarklets has an “Expand Comments” that does the trick. So saves me a task, thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
