My organisation is starting to use the goals, and naturally several of our goals relate to revenue and profit. The currency options available at present are rather limited and don’t include our local currency (NZD):
$ USD
€ EUR
¥ JPY
£ GBP
$ CAD
$ AUD
Workaround
At present we can only use the raw number format, so our revenue targets would be stated as “1,000,000” rather than NZ$ 1,000,000 and as such the fact that it is a money based target is not immediately clear.
Quick fix?
It would be useful to have a generic $ option as a potential quick-fix (i.e. with no country prefix).
Better solution
Rather than request own own currency ($ NZD) be added (and I’m sure there are lots of other currencies that could be individually requested) I would like to request the ability to add a custom format for the goal, with the potential for the format to include either a custom prefix or a custom suffix.
How would this help?
So for example we could set a custom prefix of "NZ$ " for our revenue targets so that a target so that it shows clearly as NZ$ 1M or NZ$ 1,000,000.
If we had a bitcoin based target we could show the target as BTC 5,000 instead of just 5,000.
We could set a custom suffix for another target of volunteer hours provided by our staff so that the target shows as 1,000 hrs instead just 1,000.
The use of a currency symbol or other indicators that show the type of number are incredibly useful. Hopefully adding a flexible prefix/suffix option will make the targets more readily identifiable for a range of users.
@danielmerriott, thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us and offering a potential solution to this issue! We’re always looking for ways to improve Goals, so I’ll make sure to share your feedback with our Product team. I’ll keep you posted here if this is something we can implement in the future!
Hi, is it possible to enable a complete list of currencies to be selected when you are setting key results for a goal?
The current currency list is extremely limited. As a South African business, I would like to track financial metrics in ZAR.
Since current codes are standardized and easily available, I think there are two ways to do this (as a suggestion):
When you select the format for a progress metric, rather have “Financial” as an option (alongside numbers and %'s), and then add a drop-down for the applicable currency, and have the full list of currencies available.
Or - create a global setting where you can set your applicable currency across your Organization, so that any Financial metrics are shown with that currency.
I appreciate that some multi-nationals would want even more complex options, but the current list of currencies is just too limiting.
Hi @Daneel_Jordaan, thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback
We do have an existing thread for the this feature request in the Forum already so I’ve gone ahead and merged your post with this one to consolidate feedback!
Hopefully this is something our Product team can implement in the near future I’ll keep you posted with any updates on the main thread!
Uuuugh…this frustrates me to no end when other countries are not factored in - happens in almost everything from software to webinars. Please can we include this for South Africa too. We are a country
