Additional Functionality in Custom Fields Library

I really like the custom fields library in the new Workflow tab, especially that it defaults to fields I own. I wish, though, that it had a little more functionality:

  • A frontline indicator for whether the field is private or public
    • useful for sorting out why my rules aren’t working, as rules don’t operate if the custom field does not have guest permissions enabled
  • Filter for people with specific permission levels
  • Grouping, especially by project
    • filter by project is nice, but a it cumbersome to keep changing the filter to see/compare
  • Rules the field is used in
    • incredibly important for assessing the impact of changes to complex systems

We operate in an ever-evolving system, and these options would help when auditing older workflows for ongoing usefulness or process improvements, onboarding new team members, rooting out the impacts of planned changes, and determining what information we’re really using.
