We need to track time spent on each task. Is there a way to add a custom field to every task both current and future?
you‘d have to add the relevant custom field to all your projects.

So if I add the field to my projects it gets added to all the tasks for the project?
Make sure that when you create the field in one project to enable that it can be used by the whole organization.
