It is very common for tasks to have the same name, either in the same project or in different projects, especially when you use task templates or project templates. When you want to use the Reference Fields feature, finding the specific task you are looking for is impossible because the only context data in the search list when you type is the project and the assigned person, and there is a risk of selecting one for another since the order in which the matches appear is also unclear. I think a “simple” way to solve this is to add the task due date and sort them chronologically. This would give users greater certainty when choosing the referenced task.

That could help. Also this issue happens elsewhere (add a dependency, convert to subtask etc) and the trick is to paste the target task link in the field instead of searching for it.
