Action Items from Teams Channel into Asana Project

I want to use Microsoft CoPiolot to summarize a Microsoft Teams Meeting. It will summarize the action items, the project they are connected to, and the people they are assigned to.

I want to put the action items and names into a Teams channel.
Use Zapier to pull the teams message and create tasks for each action item and assign them to the appropriate people and project based on the summary pulled from the Teams channel.

I’ve successfully completed the Microsoft connection. I’m not exactly sure of the steps to get the info into Asana properly.

Can anyone help?

@Eric_O_Connor1 - can you post an example of the content and format of the teams message?

This is likely going to require a parser step or a custom action to separate the tasks, line by line, before creating them as tasks in Asana.

Sure thing, Bryan. Thank you!

At the moment I have it in comma delimited format. I can change the format as needed.

@Eric_O_Connor1 – ok, this makes it more straightforward, but still requires some custom work.
To accomplish this, you’ll need to use a parser step + Asana Create Task, or an OpenAI/ChatGPT step + Asana Create Task, or a custom action step.

I do a lot of work in Zapier, but my dev team does all the custom stuff, so I’ve taken you as far as I know how.

My team’s backlog is booked out approx 3-4 weeks right now, so if it can wait, we can help you.
But, since you probably want this solved earlier, here’s the link to find Zapier agencies/consultants who can help: Experts Directory
