Accept or reject tasks when assigned - feature request

OPTIONAL FEATURE

  • Assign a task to a person
  • Person can choose to accept or reject the task depending on their status as a user
  • When rejecting has option of providing feedback to the assignor.

I don’t believe the approval task type fits the feature request. I’m in the same position and believe the OP is asking to have the ability to tentatively assign or offer the task to a person and they have to accept it for it to be assigned to them. We’re wanting it to use for subcontractors who we have in our system.

Workarounds until/if this is implemented:

  • Place such tasks in a project with members with “Tasks added” notifications turned on; they can accept or ignore, or
  • Assign tasks with a note (this could be automated with a rule) to unassign themselves to reject.

Hi @Lane_Anderson,

I had thought about (and proposed) something along these lines some years ago, but never followed up on implementing it as there didn’t seem to be a lot of interest. Would love to hear your feedback on that thread:
