Ability to use the new time tracking feature on mobile

+1 vote for mobile time tracking. This is the single biggest thing holding us back from using Asana’s time tracking. Not all work is computer desk work.

Time tracking everything is crucial to understanding estimated vs actual workload, resource costs, etc. The planning fallacy is one of the biggest challenges of any work task or project.

Can’t stop a meeting timer unless you’re back at your computer?

Working an event, but can’t say the event timer is over unless at a computer?

We actually don’t use the Asana mobile app much, but we’d use it all the time to find and start timers.

Any update to adding this feature? This is also critical for us as we have employees doing jobs outside of a desk. Time tracking for them would be amazing.

When will this feature be available? This is Critical to the viability of the product.

Hi @Vanessa_N, I am currently looking into other job management software apps that provide this feature, however the team and I would prefer to continue using Asana. Can you please advise if the mobile time tracking feature is going to become available and the expected time frame for the implementation? Thank you.

I would also like to echo that this is a really important feature for me. I’m moving to hybrid remote working soon and I really need to be able to track and prove my time on tasks. I do many tasks on my phone and use Asana for all of my tracking.

Also, if there is any way at all to integrate the desktop pomodoro feature, that would be super useful as well. I’m currently using another app on my phone for pomodoros on mobile and then use Asana when I’m on desktop. It’s rather unwieldy.

Hi @Kristin_Martin, I completely understand your point, and I do hope time tracking can be added to our mobile apps in the future, as well as a pomodoro option. At this time, the only option available for Pomodoro time management connected with Asana is with a third-part app, which requires a subscription. You can find more information here.

Hey @Vanessa_N,

Our company could really benefit from this feature. We are a print company that would like to monitor time spent on different jobs per individual and having this feature would help us with those metrics! Is there an ETA on when we could see this issue have some movement?

Thanks!

It would be great if there was an ability to track time per task int the mobile app like you can with GetHarvest in browser but this currently doesn’t seem to be possible. Currently have team writing there times in manually via a subtask as a lot of them don’t have access to a laptop when they need to log their time.

Hi @davidreinhardt99, welcome to the Community Forum and thanks for sharing your feedback!

I’d recommend checking this thread that could also be useful to you: Time Tracking with Mac Help Request

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions.

My team is not able to add actual time through the Mobile App. It is a requirement to log time to close out a task. Currently team members cannot close out task on the Mobile App because they cannot log their time. This significantly impairs its usefulness.

I’ve merged your post into an existing topic where you can click the title to scroll to the top and vote by clicking the purple Vote button.

I have a construction team and a hospitality team. I use asana for all my other teams as well, but lacking the ability to edit time tracking while in the field is a huge drawback, as we are heavy users of the workload features. I hope this gets updated in the app soon! Thank you! Love Asana.

Hi! Are there any updates and timelines for Asana time tracking features on iOS?

If you want to make your customers and their team more happy and more flow relaxed, you need to implement this feature into mobile devices ASAP:)

Let me remind you that you blocked integration with Harvest, which had useful mobile tracking features.

We are waiting for updates!

Thanks!

I am one of those people hoping for a mobile implementation of time tracking, but if you are desperate to use it now, opening Asana in desktop view from your browser may be the answer :unicorn:

@hagi how exactly were you able to get to the desktop view of asana in your phone’s browser? I use chrome (via android) and it keeps asking me to open the mobile app whenever I try to access anything within my team’s asana instance. Thx for any help.

On Android, you have to uninstall the Asana app in order to view Asana on your browser.

Thank you so much!

+1 vote for mobile time tracking.
We are a Manufacturing company, and each staff member has an iPad. In order to use time tracking, staff must access Asana in a browser window. The browser view quite slow and buggy on an iPad - both in Chrome and Safari - relative to the native app experience.

Is there an expected timeline for adding this feature to mobile?
