Ability to Search Comments

So have you seen any improvements to search? One glaring issue is that search on web searches all comments but on the ios app it can’t do the same!

The ability to search comments and in the Description would be really helpful for my small business. I often input recurring action items in the Description. I am aware I can search for it on the desktop version, but not having the ability to search for keywords through the app is limiting.

We would very much like the ability to search comments on the mobile app. It seems to work on the desktop app, so we started using it in our workflow, then realized the mobile app doesn’t have the same functionality. Which was a bummer, not sure what we’ll do next.

Please make comment info searchable on the mobile app, thanks so much!

Wouldn’t hold my breath for this. Been asking for a long time.

I know this is a very old post, but I am curious of Task Comments are searchable? In my testing, they are not.

I would agree that search in the Description would be very helpful. At this point I would even welcome search in Comments. It sounded like you stated that search in Comments works in desktop (and browser?), but in my testing that is not working. Did I misunderstand your post?

I was unable to get search in Comments to work. I am just entering text from a comment post into the main search bar at the top of Asana Desktop and Asana Web Browser (also Desktop). Am I missing something?

@Aj_D - this thread is specifically about task descriptions, which are searchable. I’ll answer you in the other thread you replied to re: comments, but those are also searchable as well.

@Forum-team - can this thread be closed and marked as released?

@Aj_D - searching in comments is possible (at least in the browser/desktop version, I don’t use mobile so can’t comment there). If you’re not seeing expected results, you might just need to throw a * at the end of the term or try these other syntaxes:

@Forum-team - can this thread be closed? (maybe we need to split the mobile-specific requests into a new one?

Thanks for the info and clarification. Unfortunately, my experience does not match what you stated, though I wish it would. In my testing, I added the Asana Task ID (from the Task URL) to the Task Description and then did a search for the first 4, 5, 6, 7, 8… characters and Asana showed no result. Then I deleted the Task ID from the Task Description and added it as a Task Comment and performed the same search test, again, no result.

Am I missing something? Thanks for your help.
