@Dhafer_alFalah - yes, we offer a button to expand all subtasks at once. (Called Bulk Open/Close) How to get and use Supersana for Asana for FREE forever:
Add the extension: Go to Supersana.io/free and click the “Free Forever” license. This will allow you to use all PRO features for 2 weeks, and then when your trial is finished, it’ll let you choose 3 features to keep free forever.
Authorize your Asana account: When you install it, it’ll ask for browser permissions — click Allow. Then it’ll ask for Asana permissions — click Allow (or whatever YES button is there).
Choose your features: Watch the 4-min Supersana onboarding video. Then, turn ON the features you want and leave everything else off.
Lastly, click on the puzzle piece at the top right of your browser (Chrome). Then click the “Pin” next to Supersana.
The feature you are looking for is under SuperNav >> Bulk Open/Close.
You did it! Now you can click the Supersana logo at the top right and use any features you’d like.
IMPORTANT: It is IN BETA — so we KNOW it has bugs. For that reason, please be sure to test any particular feature on a test project before using it on a live project.
FREE FOREVER DETAILS: After your trial, if you decide to keep PRO, you can get a lifetime single user or team-wide license for a one-time payment. Or, you can just keep 3 features free forever.
Do you realize what you said actually makes this worse? The fact that they clearly know about this popular request and have yet to do anything about it. Sounds to me like ya’ll can’t do it. Or else, you probably would have already.
Hi @Marco_Scheltner - I’m the founder of Supersana. Thanks so much for letting us know of the issue. Just so you know, Supersana is built as a layer of features on top of Asana code, so any time Asana changes parts of their code on any feature, it temporarily breaks features built on top of it. We got this bug report from another user 2 days ago and are working on a fix.
@Marco_Scheltner - thanks for your message. About that same time we became aware that Asana was in the process of rolling out subtask drop-downs for all views.
For that reason, we did not develop a fix and the feature is going to be discontinued because it’ll be available natively in Asana.
While Asana is a great product, the Asana’s customer service is tone deaf to its user’s input. Every response is straight from the corporate standard script. A lot of “we feel” but little action. Translated these response are “shut up, enjoy our product, and we will add features when we want” A great example is this feature request… 3 years and counting for a bulk expand/collapse? Seriously Asana start listening to your users.
Wow. Over four years later and still no expand/collapse all? Is there ANY competing product that doesn’t have that basic feature? Products 25+ years ago had this basic feature. And EVERY TIME I log back in, it’s all collapsed again and I have to expand each task, one at a time? So in addition to lacking that basic feature, also keeping my view the same as it was the last time I logged in is missing…
This feature is much needed. It’s a waste of time to click on the expand button for every task each time I even switch to another view and back. For a “productivity” tool, not having this feature is counter-productive. @Emily_Roman I don’t see any new feature development in the pipeline Product Feedback - Asana Forum
can we at least know if this feature is being considered?
Just returned to this post after idk how long, and found I’d already liked it… Therefore, chiming in again that it’s still not a feature and would be super handy to have. Thanks!
This would be very helpful, especially with nested sub-tasks, so in the list view, we can continue expanding the sub-tasks to allow us to see the full project hierarchy and move sub-tasks around from within that same screen rather than having to drill into the nested levels to see what is there.
