a11y: Reorder tasks via keyboard in Board view

Didn’t we used to be able to use the task keyboard shortcuts to change the selected task and move tasks up and down in Board views? If so, they don’t seem to work anymore.

They’re listed in the keyboard shortcuts menu and appear to work in list views.

Hi @Skyler, I wanted to follow up on this thread with an update! We’ve just launched Keyboard Navigation in Board view, bringing more keyboard-friendly movement between tasks. You can review the full announcement here: :keyboard: Board view, meet keyboard navigation!

Regarding the ability to move tasks up and down using the keyboard, this is not yet covered in the current release. It is coming in a future iteration, though we do not have an ETA for that update just yet. We will keep you posted as soon as those future improvements are live or we have more concrete dates.

Since part of this request isn’t solved yet, I’m keeping this topic open and marked as “Considered”. However, if that’s okay with you, we can edit the title to something like “a11y: Reorder tasks via keyboard in Board view” to clearly focus the request on what is still missing.

Thanks for the feedback, @ka_nishiyama! I’ve actually seen similar feedback about this before. Once a task is opened in the side pane, you can’t use the keyboard to move up and down to other tasks anymore.

The task pane sits with a different team. I had a look and this doesn’t seem to be in the roadmap yet, but I’ll make sure your feedback gets to the right people so they have it on their radar. :slightly_smiling_face:

I also edited the title of your topic a bit so it’s easier for our teams to find and follow up on if it gets added to future plans.
