Hi Community! ![]()
Getting started with a new tool can feel like a lot. New terms. New views. And the challenge of bringing your team along. If you’re onboarding a team, it’s normal to wonder where to begin and how to set everyone up for success. You’re not alone. There are plenty of resources to help you along the way.
Think ABC: absorb the basics, build by doing, and connect so you can continue to grow. No singing required (though we won’t stop you
).

B: Build by doing
The best way to learn Asana is by using it for real work. Start small with a process you already run so it feels familiar and immediately useful.
-
Start with a real workflow
Pick one recurring process such as team meetings, content requests, or onboarding new hires and bring it into Asana. Create a simple project, add a few tasks, and assign owners to see how collaboration comes to life. -
Use templates
Using Asana for a process your team is already familiar with is the easiest way to get started. In our Asana Templates Gallery you’ll find dozens of curated templates for every type of work, including marketing campaigns, product launches, IT requests, and content calendars. Templates help you save time, learn how experts structure their projects, and see best practices in action before customizing them for your own workflow. -
Create a team hub project
Build one shared space where your team can track priorities, share updates, and assign responsibilities. Add a recurring task for weekly check-ins to keep everyone aligned. -
Try one automation
Add a simple rule to handle routine steps automatically, such as assigning tasks or moving completed work to the right section. Small automations make a big difference over time.
