I am planning upcoming work and allocating tasks across the coming months. I want to see the workload for each member to see if i need to edit deadlines based on estimated time of task completion. However, asana is allocating work time on the weekends. This doesn’t allow me to accurately see the capacity of my team.
I have edited the project setting to only have working days as monday to friday. I have also checked that non of the tasks start and or end on a weekend. I am out of ideas and really need this working so I can accurately plan, any tips?
Hi @Mia_Helps! Welcome to the community!
In Workload, effort is spread across the whole task date range. If a task spans a weekend, you’ll see allocation on Sat/Sun even if it doesn’t start or end on those days. Quick win: split long tasks so they don’t cover weekends, or break them into weekday chunks.
I agree with being able to easily skip weekends for efforts. Thank you!
Hi @Mia_Helps , that’s strange - could you post a screenshot of this?
@Irish_Makimura , I think the post you referenced is requesting the reverse of what Mia is asking for here.
Hi @Richard_Sather,
You are right the other post is wanting the reverse of what I am doing. But the issue is the same of not being able to dictate if weekends are include in allocated time or not.
Thanks!
