I love using Asana, but I constantly run into a big limitation with date filters in project views and dashboards.
Here is my use case: I use an Asana project to manage my finances. Each task is a bill, and the due date is the payment date. I want to create a clean, saved view to show only “This Month’s Bills”.
Currently, the only way to do this is by setting a custom filter like “between July 1st and July 31st”. The problem? When August comes, the filter doesn’t auto-update. I have to manually go in and change the dates. Every. Single. Month.
I face the exact same issue with my Content Calendars. I want to share a permanent “Next Month’s Planning” list view with my clients, but I can’t automate it.
Also, the Dashboard widgets are super limited right now (we only have today, tomorrow, next 7 days, etc.).
What we really need are dynamic date options in our filters, such as:
- This Month / Last Month / Next Month
- Month to Date
- Overdue (a dedicated filter to catch anything that slipped through)
This would save us so much manual work and make reporting actually useful. Who else is struggling with this? Let’s get this voted up!
