My team is wanting to create an Asana template with multiple task. We know an estimate of how many days the task will take to complete, but once we put that number into the Gannt view, it automatically places a start day with that estimated length. This then creates start dates for all the following dependent tasks. Is there a way to have the estimated length be placed without the automatic start date factor? It also is including weekend which we do not want to be included in this range.
Did you read about project templates in help.asana.com? You can assign relative dates to each task, relative to either the project’s start date (days ahead from that date), or the project’s due date (days prior to that date). You specify those project dates when you instantiate the project from the template.
Also, another approach, even if you put arbitrary dates for all tasks in your project template, you can select them all when in Gantt view and move them all relatively.
