It would be really nice if Asana would enable the away mode when I am “Out of Office” on Google Calendar. Our team doesn’t work the same days every week, and we use Gsuite to set our out of office days. This would prevent us from getting notifications from other team members on our days off and allow us to rest
Hi @anon46372191, welcome to the Asana Community Forum ![]()
This is a great request and I’d personally love to have this feature! As a workaround, you can create an Asana tasks with your OOO and sync your Asana tasks to Google calendar by following these steps.
We don’t have immediate plans to launch this feature but I’ll keep you updated as soon as I have any news.
Has anyone found a solution to this request?
In my team, we set OOOs in GCal and have to put ourselves as “Away” in Asana. If people forget, and many people forget, folks don’t know and keep expecting responses etc in Asana!
Our team is also inquiring about a feature such as this. Or a way to manage OOO that isn’t on an individual level, but on an organizational level. That way, if we have a stakeholder who is OOO, we know to reassign tasks to another person.
Was there any update on this? We also set our OOOs in Gcal, but would love it if the Away status could be shared in Asana. Also, would love a flag if the task due date is during someone’s OOO period, so we can reassign the task or adjust the due date to when they’re back in-office.
I was hopeful this was going to get some attention when I was the AI Risk Assessments. There are few risks as big as someone going on leave and not having significant notice. I’d think this would be advantageous to the workload feature as well versus manually setting capacity. If someone suddenly drops their working hours from 40 to 20 per week, it should be able to self adjust for the time period affected.
