Sorting by Custom Field removes subtasks from displaying

Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:
If I sort my project by a custom field, the triangles on the left of the task that allow me to open subtasks in list view disappear. Also if I were to save that view as default, every time I come into the project, subtasks are not available from the list view.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Create a list
  • Use custom field to add at least two different selections
  • Add subtask to a task (you will see a triangle dropdown show up)
  • Sort by custom field (you will see a triangle go away)

That’s not a bug, actually - that’s the behavior per the current design of Asana.

You can (and should!) add your vote to show subtasks when the view is sorted or filtered here:
