Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:
We’re having some trouble with duplicating Tasks. Even if we do set the checkmark at “Projects” in the checkbox for duplicating Tasks, SOME of the Projects are not referred from the source Task (and Subtasks) to the duplicate Main-Task and the newly created Subtasks.
Steps to reproduce:
Duplicate task, set checkmark “Projects”, Create New Task
Browser version:
Google Chrome Version 76.0.3809.132 (Official Build) (64-Bit)
The first thing I would check out is if the person duplicating the task has “Can Edit” right on the project missing from the duplicated task. If the user is “Comment-Only” on the project in question, he technically can’t create tasks inside this project, which might explain why the task doesn’t duplicate with this project. You can easily check user permissions for this project following these steps: Setting Up a Project in Asana | Product Guide • Asana Product Guide
If the solution above doesn’t help, we would need access to some private info that can’t be shared publicly in the Forum, so our support team will be in a better situation to help you. In order to speed things up, make sure to provide them with the following info:
The email address of the user who is duplicating the task
We double checked the user permissions in all of the three relevant projects that are not copied to the duplicate task. It seems like everyone does have the permission to edit, so we assume there might be a problem we can not solve by ourselves.
Since this was working perfectly for quite a long time, I will contact the support team and hope for the best
Thanks for your reply @Klaudia!
The solution was removing the template function from the relevant projects. Now they are transfered from the source task to the duplicate task.
