Hi there!
We have begun using custom fields across several projects that track bugs, open items to resolve and features/feature planning. We use a specific custom field to track product areas impacted by a bug.
I have built several reports to gain improved visibility on where our biggest development needs are. They work great. However, I can’t sort the results on the report by volume (I think it is currently only alphabetical).
I would love to be able to sort a report by volume so that I can have the custom fields with the most use on one end of the report and descend from there.
When you say “sort a report” do you mean the search results that are returned when you click on the data in the chart?

No, the actual report. Clicking on the results give me what I need as they’re appropriately sorted.
As an example, this chart below gives me good information on the results that show. But this only shows me results that begin with A-C, regardless of if E or M have more results.
In wanting to be able to quickly assess where the greatest need is, I’d love to be able to sort this view so that I can see what returns the most results.
I see - so you mean, you’d want the ability to control the way the bars are ordered on the chart, specifically you want to order them in descending from highest occurring to least occurring, so that you’re highest count always appears at the far right side?
You’re right - I think they appear in the order of the list in the custom field… That would be an interesting feature to be able to adjust how the results on reported on the graph!
By the way - don’t forget to vote for your own submission
