What I’m trying to build is a widget in a dashboard that shows the time that has been spent in each section for that project. I just can’t seem to find anything. I can do it by assignee etc but never by project and then by section. Any ideas?

Well, you can do a chart for each project, and keep those charts side-by-side to see multiple projects. Here’s one project’s chart:
