Remove icons from color block in sidebar's projects list

Hi team,

I find the new UI change in the left lateral panel with all the projects listed very disturbing.

Having the symbols displayed within the color block/anchor is adding visual clutter without providing any helpful information. It simply hitches my brain and I wish I could get rid of it.

Thanks for considering rolling back this update.

The recent changes to the icons for tags in the side panel (not in the main task area which are fine) are definitely a step backwards. I use tags extensively and have many starred and showing in the side panel along with projects. I work in dark mode.

The tag icons have the tag color as the background and a very thin border of the same color just slightly brighter. It is very hard scan the tags easily with the current design. Prior to the change it was simple and obvious. I tried switching to the light theme and it really does nothing to improve the situation.

Please consider reverting back to the way it was or doing something to improve how it appears currently. Just don’t leave it the way it is. It’s definitely not up to Asana’s normally well done UI standards. I makes me wonder if anyone thought to test these changes in the sidebar.

Hi @Todd_Cantu1, welcome to the forum :waving_hand:

I’ve moved your post into this thread that @vanessa_aw initially posted. Your votes have been consolidated.

I also agree, I find the introduction of icons more distracting than just the colour block for projects, portfolios etc. And I’m personally not crazy about the changes to icons in the sidebar of Goals, Dashboards, Workloads, either :grimacing:

However, the project icons look great for the ones with our client logos!

Please remove the icons, but more importantly, please fix the color blind friendly mode so the high-contrast colors show up in the sidebar! The icons circled on the screenshot are the same 3 projects - the colors are much harder to differentiate on the sidebar:

When color blind mode is enabled, it also makes some icons white on top of very light color blocks, basically invisible. The same icons are black when color blind mode is disabled:

I second this! Please remove the icons or at least add the ability to set the icon to “None”. It’s useless visual clutter and very distracting.
