Projects with overdue tasks

Hi,

I am looking for a way to display all the projects in a team with overdue tasks, sorted by project owner.
I don’t need to see the actual overdue tasks.
I tried the search function, but here I can only see all the tasks in all the projects, but not the project owner. I can filter by project ownwer, but by doing this, I need to create a custom search each time or save multiple search queues.

Are there any clever workarounds or reports I have not found yet?

Hi @Constantin_Schneider

Welcome to the forum.
Have you tried using the people filter - projects owned by?
I believe once you get the search you should be able to sort the view by project name

I think this might give you the desired outcome. Once it does, you can then save this single advance search an d return to it.
Keep in mind that project owner does not appear now as a column from the meta data to be filtered, but this workaround should help you a bit I think.

Hi Rashad,

thank you very much for the quick reply.
Maybe I was not specific enough - this is exaclty what I have done so far.
But I need to include many project ownwers in the view, and I want to see the owner in the overview.

Something like:

Projectowner 1 (PO1)
Project A
Project B
PO2
Project E
Project F

The search / filter logic would be:
Search key: overdue tasks
Filter: PO1, PO2, …POx
Sort by: PO

Are there other options through portfolios or reports?

I want to avoid forcing the POs to update the projects manually, so use the “Due date” feature in the project for the next open task - that way I could use the portfolio.
Also I want to avoid having 20 saved search functions…

Any Ideas?

Ok, now I understand. I unsolved this.
I do not believe that currently you can do this.

Portfolio allows you to see the project by owner and progress as a whole. It does not specify if certain tasks have missed their due dates.

And currently, you cannot include Project Owner as a criteria / column to be visible in your single saved search.

@ambforumleader anyone knows a workaround to this?

Welcome, @Constantin_Schneider,

One solution:

Make a portfolio with all the projects in the team. (You could automate this for the future by using a project template to create projects; just specify the portfolio in template.)

There’s automatically a column showing in red the number of overdue tasks, if any.

Sort the portfolio by owner and save that as a default.

Thanks,

Larry
