Project update with AI using a custom field

I have a project that we utilize as a kanban board. My board uses a custom field labeled “Stage” to move across the board. I want to Status Update on this project using AI. I have the following sentence in my prompt: “Highlight tasks where the “Stage” field on any task was updated in this project. Include the previous “Stage” value and the current “Stage” value.”

The summary says that it does not see “Stage” included in the project dataset. Is there a way to include custom fields in the AI summary?

Steps so far:

  • I’ve added this field to my company’s library
  • I’ve ensured that “Field Access and Permissions” are open to all users.
  • On the manual status update UI, I see the “Show or hide fields” dropdown, but it only include four fields… Not sure how I add more fields here.

This is a limitation I shared with Asana recently: the Status Update indeed doesn’t see the project’s fields… I was told it was expected behaviour for now.
