While Asana does not have a public roadmap they always monitor all feedback requests here on the forum. Over the past few months alone a lot of new features were launched.
Now regarding your request have you considered using Portfolios maybe?
Also Asana is currently running A/B tests on the sidebar design and layout, for more info see here: Feedback on sidebar redesign - #14
With these tests the sidebar is becoming more organized and might help too.
