Private projects and task collaborators

I’m hoping to understand what it means when “Task Collaborators” are listed as members of a private Asana project. In the Access settings, I have a project set as “Private to members”. Under the list of Members, “Task collaborators” is listed and I can choose Project admin, Editor, or Commenter. Under the Editor setting, for example, it says “Task collaborators can add, edit, and delete anything in the project.”

But if a task collaborator isn’t a member of the project, can they truly add, edit, or delete anything in the project? This seems to contradict with the explanation in this article.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help clarify this for me!

To me, that’s simply a confusing wording. A task collaborator, if if “project admin” is selected, won’t see the project. But they’ll have all the permissions project admin have ON THE TASK.

@Arthur_BEGOU would you agree with my analysis?

Yes, I agree with @Bastien_Siebman, ON THE TASK or TASKS where the user is collaborator or assigned to.

And I’ve tested the different cases for you

The view from the project admin

The variations: (viewed from the collaborator)
