Is there a way to have calendar events show a different date than the due date?

I organize my content by due date and complete date (I really with there was a way to rename “due date” so I can call it publish date, but that’s another thing!).

I want to have a calendar view of all the content that has been PUBLISHED on a certain day, not the day I completed it (which is the due date). Is there a way to do this?
