Inconsistency Naming Project Tabs

I previously believed that the names of project tabs could only be changed for List, Board, Calendar, Timeline, Gantt, and Notes. However, I recently discovered that when you run out of space for additional tabs and add tabs like Overview, Dashboard, Messages, etc., you are given the option to name these new tabs. Unfortunately, once named, these tabs cannot be renamed later. As of now, this seems to be the only method available for customizing the names of these types of tabs.

I think you should add the ability to easily rename all of these consistently.

Odd behaviour, indeed! And it seems like the ‘Rename’ option is missing from that particular context menu! I voted, @Esteban_Giannini , don’t forget to vote for yourself.

As a workaround, you could perhaps zoom out in your browser to fit all tabs, just temporarily, in order to right-click and get the rename option.

The issue is that there is no rename option available for tabs like Overview, Dashboard, Messages, Workflow, and Files. If you attempt to rename them, it doesn’t allow you to do so. However, if you remove these tabs and then re-add them when the tab space is full, you’re given the option to name them. This behavior is quite unusual and inconsistent.

Oh, understood, @Esteban_Giannini !

@Forum-team , I would categorize this as a bug, to be honest. What do you think?

Hey @Richard_Sather & @Esteban_Giannini

Thank you for bringing this up. Indeed, this does seem odd and may not be the intended behavior. Our team is currently working on some navigation improvements, which could potentially address this issue, though I don’t have any concrete information to share at the moment.

In any case, we truly appreciate your feedback.

Hi,

We love being creative with the names and emojis we use for saved tabs in both projects and portfolios, however the inability to rename the default ones Dashboard, Messages, etc is at times a bit frustrating, therefore it would be great if we could rename these too. Here’s an example of the how we typically lay out a project.
