Inbox notification indicator not disappearing

In my workflow (and probably many others workflow, too), I rely on Inbox Notifications to let me know if I need to check Asana for new or updated tasks. (By the way: I am using the desktop app, but problem persists in Browser too.)

As already many user have reported over the past years, there is an ongoing issue with the notification indicator not disappearing.

In the latest issue for me, it was showing the red dot on the left sidebar menu item (“Inbox“) and also a blue dot on a task (in this case, the latest) in the inbox. Clicking on the task (some times twice) makes at least the red dot disappear for a second or so, but it reappears quite quickly. The blue dot stays. It bears noting that the last comment/update in that task was mine. I am guessing it will possibly diseappear for good, once I get an answer in that task, but until then I am stuck with checking Asana regularly…
In the (closed) topic Inbox unread indicator stuck on "unread" , it was stated, that the team is informed, but priority is low, since it is “only visual”. I beg to differ on that, since the productivity gain from a productivity tool is hindered greatly by a bug that is costing the user more time and effort rather than less, as the normal operation without the bug would.

I am looking for either a solution that I overlooked or to elevate this to the team with the request to move up the priority, since the problem a) already persists for quite some time, b) has had already many reports and c) is not as trivial a bug as it was previously made out to be. Yes, it is not “blocking”, but, as stated above, its hindering.

Kind regards

Welcome, @Mathis_Völkert.

Very well put, and I can corroborate your report, and fully agree with your request.

I use the browser version of Asana and intermittently (including presently) run into the issue of the dot showing by “Inbox” in the sidebar and in every Asana browser tab, so it’s quite distracting (and not professional while demoing Asana which is bad for Asana and me!)

@Forum-team, could you consider escalating for us?

Thanks,

Larry
