In one of my projects I want to create a view where I can see tasks groupped by assignee but only for some of the team members’ (not all team) . In addition to that I would like to list the unassigned tasks in that project at the end of the list. There is no such assignee filter as “unassigned”.
When I do advanced search I can set “nobody” for assignee but that is not available in project view.
@Akos_M - with the current view customization options in Asana, you can accomplish either one of your requests, but not both in a single view. But, you could do 2 separate project views (tabs) to get the info you need:
First, to create a view that groups by assignee, but only for certain employees:
Under Group By, select “By Assignee”
Under Filter, select “Assignee” and add the names of the employees who should be included
The section at the bottom is a little misleading though. It says “Unassigned”… however unassigned tasks will not show there because you have filtered by specific assignees.
For your “Unassigned Tasks” view, best thing to do to create an saved advanced search, based on that project (or a portfolio, or the whole account).
If you need help doing that, please comment and I’ll reply with prompts for that.
An advanced search will give you the view you’re looking for- unfortunately it will not live within the project, but by clicking the star, you can save and name your search.
