How is there still not a solution for this?? Seems pretty basic.
I’d also like to point out this original post is from 2017!!!
Wow!
Another upvote here. The inability to filter out archived projects is killing us. It’s unfathomable to me that Asana can’t develop a fix.
Still looking to have this added. My inbox is destroyed by archived project open tasks.
just adding my voice here as well in June, 2025. there really has not been a solution for this in 8+ years? :_(
Hello. I have been scrolling through this thread, and all I see is mostly frustration and apparently no feature change. Did I miss an update on this or is it still as it was in 2017 ?
@Marcel, topics like this one in the English Forum > Product Feedback category are requests that you can vote on by clicking the title and then the Vote button. When there’s an update on them, they will be marked as such, perhaps tagged considered, in development, or launched.
Thanks,
Larry
9 years and counting… How can we get this issue escalate? Archiving a project should remove the associated tasks from my list.
An easy fix here would be to allow administrators to set some search parameters for their instance. For us I would only want search to show ACTIVE projects. If I want to adjust settings to search for older things a setting to also show archived projects would be great, but it seems that archiving something is pointless if I’m constantly sorting through things I’ve already told asana I’m done with for now.
Bump!
I genuinely hate stumbling upon Forum threads like this as a Product Leader! I’m super apologetic that we haven’t been responsive in addressing this 9 year running thread. Your frustration is warranted
. I’ve created a task to come back to this thread after I’ve exited our almost complete planning cycle and onboarded a new PM on my team (who will own this!). I’m sorry we’ve missed the mark on this thread, but I’m here to help fix that ![]()
Glad you’re here! Is there a fix for this issue officially in the works?
@Myla_Seabrook welcome to the Forum! We love when our customers become engaged and hold us accountable
. That being said, we don’t yet have an actionable plan for this. But we are listening and genuinely appreciate the use-case specific feedack.
Adding to this request that in addition to not seeing archived tasks, we shouldn’t see archived projects at all in My Tasks in iOS. In My Tasks on iOS I have twenty archived projects to scroll through, each one is just the title of the project a little dropdown arrow and zero tasks. Why is the project name there at all if there aren’t any tasks and it’s been archived? We should not have to scroll through archived projects with zero tasks to find our active tasks. Thanks!
