"Don't auto-shift dates" option turns off all date shifting for the project

With the date shifting functionality when using dependencies being broken in the most recent update, there’s another issue I just discovered.

If I select the “Don’t auto-shift dates on dependent tasks” option, it disables date shifting for the ENTIRE PROJECT, instead of just this one time. I want a fixed setting that stays in place, but sometimes I may want to skip date-shifting in just one case without disabling the project-level setting.

Can this please be fixed? It was working perfectly fine before—the only change needed was to have the date shifting dialog to be launched automatically rather than requiring a separate step with the “Preview” button. Everything else was working well already…

@Brian_Fewell - I renamed your post for clarity. I agree, this behavior doesn’t make sense to me either. @Forum-team - could you check if this is expected behavior? (I’m guessing it is but just curious) If it is, I think this deserves to be a feedback request.

Hi @Brian_Fewell

As suggested by @Stephen_Li above, I can confirm this is an expected behavior and not a bug.

We already shared this as feedback with our product team, but please feel free to initiate a feedback thread in our English Forum > Product Feedback category if you desire!

Thanks!
