Custom fields opened by default in tasks (for all projects where the task is located)

Hi, at our company, we use Asana to track most of the work that involves multiple departments. Everyone has their own project with their own custom fields, and as the person assigning the work, I fill in custom fields for individual tasks for each department. However, since Asana has changed, all custom fields are now hidden for specific projects, and I need to expand them in order to fill them in. Is there a way to set this up at the project level or leave all custom fields expanded by default?

Thanks for posting! This is also causing a big issue for my creative team. They were used to expanding a task and viewing all the custom fields at once - like a job ticket. Now they have to expand each specific project mention to see all the fields. Hoping someone has a solution or way to control what is visible.

Same. The latest changes to how custom fields are displayed in the task pane has created a ton of extra cognitive load and feels like a major regression in productivity.

@Tomáš_Kůrka_ToK Hi Tomáš,

I can confirm this is affecting us internally as well — we work in the same company and many teams rely heavily on custom fields in Asana.

Since the change where fields are hidden under project sections, creating and assigning tasks has become noticeably slower because we have to expand each section manually.

It would be very helpful to have an option to keep custom fields expanded by default, ideally configurable at the project or workspace level.
