Changing the due date of a task shifts it to a different workstream

Hi @Becki_Howarth, welcome to the Asana Community Forum! I had a look but I was unable to reproduce this issue on my end. If you checked the Rules section in the Customize menu and there are no rules added to your project, your task shouldn’t move to another section automatically.

In order to investigate this further and see what exactly is moving your task, could you please reach out to our support team and share the URL of an example task? Unfortunately I don’t have the tools to see more details about the actions in the task but our team do!
