Can you segratate workflow activities from project activities ie reporting against the two categories separately?

Im trying to get an idea of my Organisations Project Healthchecks but at the moment all I can see is a list of total activities/ tasks which includes many different To Do Lists/ Repositries and workflows, as well as projects. Im pretty new to Asana - is there a way of segregating Workflows from Projects?

Totally get this. When you’re new it can feel like everything gets lumped together.

There isn’t a built-in “Project vs Workflow” switch. Workflows are usually just projects that use rules or templates. The trick is to label or group things so reporting can filter cleanly. A few easy setups I’ve seen work well:

Separate portfolios: put true projects in one portfolio and ongoing workflows or repositories in another. Build dashboards from each portfolio so your metrics are clean.
Project-level classification: add a project custom field like “Work type” with options Project, Workflow, Repository, To-do list. Apply it across your projects, then filter your reporting by that field.
Team or naming conventions: put workflows in a dedicated team or use a prefix like WF_. Then filter reporting by team or name contains.

Quick win if you want project healthchecks only:

Create a “Projects” portfolio
Add just your active projects
Use the portfolio Dashboard for status, due dates, and workload without the noise from workflows

This is amazing Stefan - thanks so much.
I’ve tried attending some of the live training courses (Workflows and Reporting) but I think I need to re-view the recordings as watching them with very specific queries in mind can be a tad confusing, probably better watching them as standalone courses first.

Anyway, thanks or coming back to me and the info you have given me could work in some of my cases, I especially like the idea of changing the naming conventions (adding WF etc to the project titles).

I have however got a few follow-up queries - should I be putting them into the Help Function (rather than monopolising your time)!!
Or can I continue to use this thread?

Thanks again Stefan - I do appreciate your help.
