Bring back 'human in the loop' to Asana Dash

I have been using the general Asana AI feature (the chat in the top right corner) intensively over the last few month and came to love it, especially for turning meeting notes/transcripts into task updates, new tasks and documentation. Before this feature was changed to Asana Dash, it always presented new comments or tasks it wants to create directly within the chat and I had the option to edit them before creating them or discard comments or new tasks if I did not want them to be added.

Now this has changed and Asana Dash adds all of them directly, which for me kind of removes the human in the loop. I found this very important, because as we all know, AI can make mistakes or sometimes just interprets something in a different way. So keeping an option to first be presented with the results before actually doing changes on tasks/projects should be given.

@Sebastian_Bruno,

Have you tried different ways of asking Dash to operate that way and found you couldn’t get it to? Have you tried Dash’s gear icon to update those instructions here as one way to possibly do that?:

Also, don’t forget to click the title to scroll to the top and vote by clicking the Vote button at the top-left; that’s the quickest and most effective way to express your support for a request.

Thanks,

Larry

Hi Larry, thanks for your response. Unfortunately, the Dash settings won’t open for me (only empty screen) in the web app as well as Windows desktop app. So I can not test working with instructions.

I tested a variety of prompts to force Dash to show a similar behaviour as the previous Asana AI had (prepared tasks and comments in the chat to accept/edit/decline), but without any success.

Do you have specific tips for prompts to make sure Asana Dash does that?

I agree that having a review step makes a lot of sense here. Even when the AI gets most of the meeting notes right, it can still create a task or comment with the wrong context. Being able to review and edit the changes before they are added would give users much more control.

this is a great reason to create an AI teammate if you have the ability. I do this and name the behaviors i want from it and then set it to a specific cadence to create meeting updates/notes or exec reports but require a human review.

@Sebastian_Bruno,

I don’t have any other specific tips, so your best bet for both the issues (no settings and inability to persuade Dash as you desire) would be: Try these troubleshooting steps, then please create a support ticket: see How to contact Asana Support.

Thanks,

Larry
