Hello,
I do not see the purpose of Asana Actual Time. Time is used in a business context for data analysis to speak to performance, pay, etc.
The way Asana’s “Actual Time” field is set, anyone can add to it; it’s not tracked in real-time, and it can be changed, fudged, etc.
I want Everhour times to reflect in a field in our Asana board so I can utilize the formula field to calculate cost/project, cost/task, etc.
Everhour tracking is a superior choice to Asana’s actual time tracking. Yet Everhour does not pull in the fields and types that are available in Asana, and the reporting is really limited.
Asana has all the details but needs a proper way to track time, which can not be made up to serve the person best when entering the time. I need actual, honest times.
Ideas or resolutions for accurate time tracking to Asana tasks?
Everhour won’t 2 way sync to actual time.
You can only use estimates in a custom field, but then you loose granular estimates from Everhour
It’s an everhour sync need, hit up their support and they can confirm.
We’ve ditched the hope here, moved back to using Everhour widget / app for everything knowing that info isn’t going to be available in Asana
Are you saying you only do reporting in Everhour?
Is there another integration similar to Everhour that actually will pull in this data into Asana?
Just use everhour for reporting and bring in attributes from Asana.
I reached out to Everhour as a client was dealing with the same restrictions and this was their answer:
"Thanks for getting in touch!
We b-sync Everhour estimates with Asana custom fields, as written in the article you sent the link to, so if you update an estimate in Everhour, it will sync to Asana and vice versa.
As for the tracked time, we do show it in Asana, however, it’s not currently possible to sync it to/ from Asana custom fields at this point.
Let me know if you have any other questions!"
At this point there is no way of getting tracked time synced to Asana from Everhour, they are working on this though!
Here’s the link mentioned in the email: B-Sync of Everhour estimates and Asana custom fields - Everhour
