Asana "Eisenhower" format question, using rules

I’ve looked around at a few of the ways of mimicking the Eisenhower Matrix in “My Tasks” in Asana.

It’s fairly easy to set a custom field and group them that way, and it’s fairly easy to set Rules to move them from one of the “Due later” to “Do soon/more urgent” fields.

But, is there a way to set a rule to move them back to one of the other field options, if I change the due date to something a few weeks out?

I have this useful habit of making future thoughts for myself to consider, and putting a due date of 2-3 weeks out for me to revisit it. I do this quite a lot, and would like for the custom field to change back to a something like “Important, less urgent” if I change the due date out any.

I don’t seem to be able to find a way of doing that particular function. Any suggestions, other than just manually changing that field if I decide to kick the can down the road a little further?

Hi @Matt5

You should be able to create a rule to help you with moving tasks between sections.

I have just tried it on My Task and the rules do not allow a condition for the date to be dynamic / custom.

Have you tried building the rule based on a custom field, that if a custom field is a certain value, the due date gets pushed by 3 weeks?

I haven’t tried that but i’m sure it would work, I had hoped to build this all out this morning but more urgent matters have momentarily taken center stage, I intend to look into that this afternoon. Thanks for that suggestion!
