Allow for multiple github PRs attached to an asana task

Currently you can only attach one PR per asana task, when a single task may have several applicable PRs. You should allow for more than 1.

There’s an older request for this with a lot of history worth adding your vote to: Github integration: Link Asana task to multiple PRs.

In the meantime, two options:

  • Command by Asana. Asana’s product for engineering teams has a separate GitHub integration that supports linking multiple PRs to a single ticket. You reference the ticket ID in the PR title, or use a keyword like “ref” or “part of” followed by the ticket ID in the PR description. Comments from all linked PRs sync to the ticket. It needs a domain admin to enable it, so worth checking if your org has access.
  • Subtask per PR. In standard Asana, the workaround most teams use is creating a subtask for each PR and attaching it there, so the parent task shows all related code changes.
