Add tasks to project section by name?

Is there a way to add a task to a project section by it’s name? All the answers I’ve found indicate I need the GID.

Or is there a way to get the GID without querying the project - just from the Asana interface?

You can’t indeed do anything with the API “by name”, you always need to have the technical gid of the object. From what I know, you can’t get a section gid from the interface no. Do you need a user to give it to you?

I retrieved the sections using postman and have now created a routine to pull section information from a project. Thanks.
