About the changelog

The changelog forum category is the single source of truth for new endpoints, improvements, and changes to the Asana API.

What’s in the changelog?

We’re committed to keeping this category updated with the latest information about changes to the Asana API. Each change will be announced in a dedicated post in this category. Depending on the nature of the change, the post will contain:

  • A concise summary of the most significant changes made, as well as usage notes
  • Expected timelines for the various components of a change
  • Instructions for navigating any breaking changes

Asana Platform teams actively moderate the changelog category to answer questions and provide updates.

Get notified about upcoming changes

To ensure you know about upcoming changes relevant to your apps, we encourage developers to subscribe to the changelog directly by clicking the Follow button on the top right of the changelog category and selecting your notification preferences:

Topics in the changelog have tags for both the work graph object(s) involved as well as the nature of the change (e.g. breaking, improved, new, etc.). You may wish to subscribe to specific tags that are relevant to your apps. To subscribe to a tag, click on the tag and then click the bell in the upper right.

Be sure to configure your Email notification settings, found under Preferences in your forum profile, so that you receive notifications for your watched categories, tags, and topics:

Deprecations

API changes that are backwards-incompatible leverage our deprecation process. For this type of change, we will provide instructions for using deprecation headers in the changelog topic post.

Contributing and providing feedback

We value developer feedback and encourage you to join the conversation by commenting on posts if you encounter any issues, have questions, or want to provide feedback on a particular API change.
