I added the Asana integration for Google Chat so that my team would get notifications in our Google Chat “space” when we received new tasks in a specific Asana project (for work requests from other members of our organization). It prompted me to login to my Asana account in order to complete the setup, but now all of the notifications in Google Chat say my name even when I wasn’t the one who did the action (e.g., says I left a comment when it was someone else, or says I was assigned a task when it was assigned to someone else)… is there a way to fix this so that the notifications show the accurate names from Asana, instead of just the name of the person who set up the integration?
That’s a known quirk with the Google Chat integration—it sends all notifications using the name of the person who set it up. Unfortunately, there’s no way to change that right now. A quick fix some teams use is including the actual user’s name in the task updates or comments to keep things clear.
